Before founding Safe Haven Training, Ian Bryan spent over three decades as an NHS Paramedic and Air Ambulance responder.
That frontline experience shapes every course we deliver, focused on real scenarios, real skills and real confidence.
2010 Humble Beginnings
Safe Haven Training began in 2010 under the name Staffordshire First Aid Training. Founded by Ian Bryan as a family run business with a simple goal to make first aid practical, affordable, and accessible to everyone.
2015 First Major Milestone
In 2015, we secured our first nationwide contract with Pirelli Tyres. This marked a turning point, demonstrating the strength of our training model and establishing our ability to support larger organisations across the UK.
2018 Rebrand & Expansion
As demand increased, we rebranded as Safe Haven Training Ltd to reflect our expanding national reach. Our team grew to include NHS professionals and experienced emergency responders, and we broadened our course offering to support schools, councils and businesses throughout England.
2020 Adapting Through Challenge
When COVID-19 disrupted traditional training delivery, we adapted quickly. With enhanced safety protocols, updated CPR guidance and strict compliance measures, we continued delivering safe, high quality courses. During this period, we secured a £250,000 contract with Dudley Council and partnered with NHS Mid Cheshire Hospital, reinforcing trust in our capability and resilience.
2024 Established Nationwide Provider
By 2024, Safe Haven Training was delivering accredited First Aid and Health & Safety training nationwide, supporting both local organisations and national employers across multiple sectors.
2025 The Journey Ahead
Today, our local training centres operate as part of the Safe Haven Training network, continuing our commitment to expert led, accredited First Aid and Mental Health training. Whether working with nurseries, schools, councils or corporate teams, our mission remains unchanged: equipping people with the confidence, knowledge and practical skills to save lives.
